We had an abundance of sunshine on Saturday, May 5th, more than 1,450 registrants and 1,300 in attendance at the 13th Annual MOM Race at Starr Jaycee Park! We also had the support of more than 60 teams, 70 volunteers, 90 businesses and 230 donors. We are pleased to announce that the 5K charity run/walk raised another $50,000 for local brain research, suicide prevention programming, and crisis intervention services, bringing our fundraising grand total to $350,000. While nothing can bring our loved ones back, it’s incredible what we can accomplish when we come together to give mental illness and suicide the attention they deserve. That’s Mind Over Matter!

The MOM Race would not be possible without the support of the City of Royal Oak, our dedicated and hardworking volunteers, and the cooperation of the 186 impacted residents along the race path. Thank you for allowing us to put on a safe, family-friendly footrace in your neighborhood. I could not put on the MOM Race without the unwavering support of my Boledovich/Farhat family, especially my husband John Farhat, and my lead volunteers Andrea Anderson, Brandon & Laura Casanta, Liz Finkel, Audra Quinn, and Nancy Sieve. Thank you to Royal Oak High School for your continued MOM Race support, especially Dave Barnett and the ROHS Track Team, Celeste Rudd and the National Honor Society, the ROHS Chamber Singers, and Carrie Lawrence in the Counseling Department.
